ports progress
February 16, 2009
Another 10 days, another 1000 commits. Yikes. Mostly ports and bug fixes. I like it when product managers commit real code — it shows real dedication.
The big news is that agl spent a late Tuesday night and got cross-process rendering working on Linux, with Mac soon to follow. Really, lots of people were involved — everyone was hammering on various pieces and it finally all fell into place.
We're still incredibly slow (like four seconds to render a page) so it's not usable but we know why it's slow and the end is in sight. I joined this project two years ago with the intent of having a Linux browser and it's good to see it finally take shape.
